BLACK JOY PARADE: 2023

Black experience and community

The sixth annual Black Joy Parade took place in Oakland this past weekend. This was my first experience here in person on this freezing rain of a day. The people community showed up though!

The Black Joy Parade is a hyper-positive non-profit that celebrates the Black experience and community’s contribution to history and culture with its signature parade and celebration, partnerships and events.
